Overview

Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is currently seeking Architects at all experience levels to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI! This position has a potential for hybrid work. 

 

Our architects offer a full range of services from preliminary planning and feasibility studies through final design and construction inspection for both full build-out projects and renovations/repurposing. We have developed a rich portfolio of award winning work across a number of markets. Our architects work closely as trusted partners with our clients throughout the design process to realize a jointly conceived vision. We have built an in-house, multi-disciplinary team of architects, interior designers, engineers and planners who skillfully balance design constraints and design opportunities. We strive to design buildings of lasting value that are infused with sustainable principles.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for applying diversified principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and projects
  • Ability to take the client's vision and ideas from the Project Manager and turn them into workable plans
  • Prepare and modify reports for projects, including construction scheduling, environmental impact studies, and other necessary documentation
  • Work with the Project Manager to ensure QA/QC
  • Responsible for making design decisions independently and reviews RFIs and submittals
  • May be the on-site representative for Bergmann at client meetings
  • May assist with meeting notes, budget, and fee scheduling for each project 
  • Responsible for the construction documentation and insuring code compliance for designs
  • Pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with others is a must in this role  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from an accredited university
  • Registered architect in Michigan is preferred but not required
  • Solid Revit skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to mentor
  • Drive and motivation
  • Ability to work independently without a lot of direct supervision
